How we work and why we’re different
We value the relationship we have with our customers because it’s just good business. Embarking on any building project can be stressful, having a good working relationship is paramount. Transparency is key to a trusting relationship, so from the beginning of a project the customer is kept abreast at every step with weekly updates and reports. This allows for constant communication regarding any changes or issues that may come up.
Project Management
Skilled management is always key to the success of a project. We assign a project manager, a field superintendent, construction engineers and other staff members as your job requires to effectively manage the construction process. Overseeing them all is our leadership team.
Coordination Process
During the construction of any project, the coordination and collaboration of the trades is an integral part of the process, especially with respect to the mechanical and electrical trades. Our relationships with our key subcontractors are built on trust and experience. When doing projects outside of our area, we try to use local subcontractors in an effort to support the local communities.
Additional Construction Steps
We will work with all project team members to define the logistical requirements for the construction process. All aspects of your project – from areas for delivery and laydown to placement of barricades, to receipt and installation of your furniture, fixtures and equipment – it can be left to our experienced hands.
Extensive Construction and Design Experience:
The reality of it is that not all construction projects are created equal. Whether a restaurant project, historic renovation, or large commercial buildout, our extensive building experience in a variety industries allows us to better help you:
- Identify smaller issues before they become major challenges
- Aggressively tackle problems head-on with a can-do attitude. We’re used to challenges.
- Be solution-minded and cost conscious in everything we do. Our customers, like us, all live in the real world with defined budgets. We are very proactive about staying on budget without compromising style and function.
Traditional Self-Perform GC Approach:
This is an important attribute. All too often larger GC firms simply subcontract the work to various vendors. We’re a different and it makes a difference for you, the client. Here’s why:
- We aren’t constantly at the mercy of a subcontractor to get work performed and stay on schedule
- Our ability to self-perform work like concrete foundations, CIP concrete work, masonry and brick work mean that we can capitalize on every opportunity to move the project schedule forward rather then waiting on subcontractors to show up.
- Our work self-performance also means that we are better equipped to manage quality and control changes and costs. We aren’t adding extra mark-up to subcontractors’ costs … we’re often doing the work directly so it faster and less expensive for you as the owner.

“The team at Opus Group adds value to every project they come across. As an architect,
I appreciate Alan’s solution – oriented approach to problem solving and his ability to manage costs
without compromising quality. Further, his respect for design and intuitive understanding of projects
